The Photography
In the ten years between graduating from the Royal College of Art Film School and becoming a BAFTA-winning film and television director, Bob Bentley travelled the world — often on location as a sound technician.
Whenever the opportunity arose, he captured photographs of the people, communities, and landscapes he encountered — many in remote or rarely visited places. His eye was drawn equally to the extraordinary and the everyday.
The resulting collection of slides, long forgotten in boxes and folders for decades, is now being revealed for the first time in over half a century.
The images featured in Bob Bentley's most recent book - A Take on the World 1970s - Photography Bob Bentley, accompanied by Bob Bentley’s personal reflections, offer an intimate and authentic glimpse of the 1970s — documentary photography at its most honest and human.
